Site Visit and the “Jetzt red I” TV Show in Tirschnreuth
In July 2026, the situation and issues on the ground at the Tirschenreuth pond area were assessed. Together with the local otter consultant, ideas for implementing the project were discussed. Subsequently, the Bavarian Broadcasting Corporation’s program “Jetzt red I” visited Tirschenreuth to cover the topic “Protect or shoot? The debate over the otter.”

Kickoff Meeting in Bayreuth
To mark the project’s launch in July 2026, project partners from the University of Bayreuth, the State Office for the Environment (LfU), and the Bavarian Forest met in Bayreuth. They discussed the project’s objectives and their technical implementation. Building on this, the project will get underway in the coming weeks.
